Come and discuss the topics of online business, start-ups and project management. Read articles concerning new high level corporate jobs, launching a new product and project schedules. We will discuss various aspects of managing international teams including awareness of business culture. You will learn to express attitudes during presentations and manage participants in a teleconference.
Written English
Written tasks will include a summary of proposals relating to brand reputation, an email reminder to a customer regarding late payment and a report to a project sponsor.
You will receive feedback from your teacher.

Teaching material
We recommend that you buy the book Market Leader 3rd Edition Extra Advanced Course book with DVD-ROM Pack (Pearson Education ESL), ISBN 9781292135274, before the course starts. The book has been developed in cooperation with The Financial Times. We will study selected pages from chapters 10-12.
You can buy the book here: academicbooks.dk or at Academic Books, Øster Farimagsgade 5A, 1353 Copenhagen K.

Practical information
You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.

The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is just 4-8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.

Preparation time: 1-2 hours per week.

Ben Galvin

Ben is a TESOL qualified teacher with a strong business background gained in the telecoms and insurance industries. He is a qualified telecoms engineer and has worked on some interesting and unusual projects in his telecoms career. Ben is from West Yorkshire in the north of England and is a keen hiker. Living so close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park gave him the chance to walk in some of England’s most beautiful countryside.

Ben moved to Denmark and began teaching a year ago and he really enjoys watching his students develop their English skills and seeing their confidence grow. He loves meeting people from all over the world and learning about different cultures.

Ben recommends:
Food & drink: a homemade steak and ale pie and a pint of Black Sheep bitter in a cosy Dales pub, especially good after a long day’s hiking!
Places to visit: The beautiful and historic city of York, the modern and vibrant city of Leeds and the idyllic village of Kettlewell.
Learning tips: Watch English television and listen to English radio, it’s a great way to learn from native speakers. Never be afraid to speak, it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes.
