B2.4 Business conversation and writing at upper-intermediate level
How important to a company's success is customer care? What sort of crises do business managers face? What are the advantages and disadvantages of mergers and acquisitions? These are some of the topics we will discuss on this course as well as reflecting on the topic of green businesses and the importance of green targets.
In addition, we will practise business skills such as preparing and participating in an interview and structuring a presentation of a business plan.
Case studies will include companies facing a crisis, planning acquisitions and improving service. To this end, we will read the article Customer service is changing the world: Up close and global
You will learn grammar including the use of the ing form and the formation of sentences using if and write assignments including a newspaper article reporting on a conference and a report giving recommendations.
We recommend that you buy the book Market Leader 3rd Edition Extra Upper Intermediate Coursebook with DVD-ROM Pack (Pearson Education ESL, ISBN 9781292134819, before the course starts. The book has been developed in cooperation with The Financial Times.

You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.
The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is a maximum of 8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.
Preparation time: 1-2 hours per week.
