This course is for you if you want to improve your written English. In the modern business world, an ability to write effective and coherent emails in English is becoming increasingly essential.
During this email writing course, you will practise writing different types of emails dealing with (amongst other things):

  • Negotiations

  • Inquiries

  • Orders

  • Requests for payment

  • Apologies

  • Conveying good customer service

  • Addressing problems

  • Clarifying information

  • Changing and confirming appointments

As part of the learning process, you will be equipped with the necessary tools to ensure you write with the greatest possible effectiveness and grammatical accuracy. For example, you will learn how to use commas, abbreviations, contractions and linking expressions.
With these skills, you can be sure that your emails will be concise and business-like, as well as polite and diplomatic.
You are encouraged to bring examples of emails you have received and written yourself, so that immediate feedback can be provided.
By the end of the course, you will feel more secure and professional in your communication.

Teaching material
Materials will be handed out in class and are included in the price.

Practical information
You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.
The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is a maximum of 8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally on your course.

Ben Galvin

Ben is a TESOL qualified teacher with a strong business background gained in the telecoms and insurance industries. He is a qualified telecoms engineer and has worked on some interesting and unusual projects in his telecoms career. Ben is from West Yorkshire in the north of England and is a keen hiker. Living so close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park gave him the chance to walk in some of England’s most beautiful countryside.

Ben moved to Denmark in 2015 and began teaching. He really enjoys watching his students develop their English skills and seeing their confidence grow. He loves meeting people from all over the world and learning about different cultures.

Ben recommends:
Food & drink: a homemade steak and ale pie and a pint of Black Sheep bitter in a cosy Dales pub, especially good after a long day’s hiking!
Places to visit: The beautiful and historic city of York, the modern and vibrant city of Leeds and the idyllic village of Kettlewell.
Learning tips: Watch English television and listen to English radio, it’s a great way to learn from native speakers. Never be afraid to speak, it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes.
