When it comes to running a successful business many factors are in play. We will discuss various management styles, team building and raising finance. What type of management styles are there in your organisation? How do you judge success in leadership? In this connection, you will discuss an article about Vogue's editor, Anna Wintour. In addition, we will reflect on the topic of being a team player and what this means - what are the motivational factors needed to build a team?

You will take part in role-plays related to problem solving between team members as well as investment negotiations.

You will learn useful language when expressing your feelings, making suggestions, expressing satisfaction and dissatisfaction. In addition, you will practise negotiation techniques and methods of dealing with conflict.

You will write assignments including a summary of a negotiation meeting, a report to the Board of Directors and a letter to the CEO outlining solutions to a problem.

Teaching material
We recommend that you buy the book Market Leader 3rd Edition Extra Upper Intermediate Coursebook with DVD-ROM Pack (Pearson Education ESL, ISBN 9781292134819, before the course starts. The book has been developed in cooperation with The Financial Times.
We will study selected pages from chapters 7-9.

Practical information
You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.
The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is just 4-8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.
Preparation time: 1-2 hours per week.
