B1.3 Business conversation and writing at pre-intermediate level
Discussing new business sectors, talking about marketing mix and business planning are some of the topics discussed on this course. Therefore, you will learn vocabulary connected to describing trends and numbers, making comparisons and outlining the details of your product, price, promotion and place.
You will read the article Adidas targets the Chinese interior and write an email to a CEO summarising product changes you would like to make.
You will also discuss case studies relating to the topics and write an email detailing a new business idea and an invitation to a promotional event.
In terms of grammar, we will study, e.g. the future tense, word partnerships and time clauses such as when, while, before.
As telephoning is an important part of professional communication, we will practise role-plays in which you introduce yourself, answer work related questions, ask for clarification and repetition.

The book has been developed in cooperation with The Financial Times. We will study selected pages from chapters 7-9.

You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.
The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is just 4-8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.
