Learn how to say dates, make simple requests and express interest in conversations. Expand your vocabulary so you can talk about, amongst others, skills and interests and past events. You will improve your grammar and master the use of can/can't, the past tense of regular and irregular verbs. You will be given written assignments such as writing a biography or blog post.

Teaching material
Before the course starts, we recommend that you buy the book: Navigate A1 Beginner Course book with DVD and Oxford Online Skills (Oxford University Press), ISBN 9780194566230. We will study selected pages from chapters 7-10 of the book. The book comes with a DVD and access to an online skills programme for self-study outside the classroom.
Because this is a beginner course, we do not use a business English course book but your teacher will introduce business topics whenever possible.
You can buy the book here: academicbooks.dk or at Academic Books, Øster Farimagsgade 5A, 1353 Copenhagen K.

Practical information
This course is for you if you have already completed courses at A1 level, beginner courses at another language school, or you have picked up some English elsewhere and would like to develop your skills further. You will receive access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.

The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is just 4-8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.

Preparation time: 1-2 hours per week.

Why do I still do it?
"I enjoy it. Each day is new, each student is different and each story is unique.
I feel very happy in the classroom, and love teaching and helping my students achieve their goals."
