Why is cultural awareness important for business people? Which factors should one consider when applying for a job? How do you think international markets will develop in the future? These are some of the questions we will discuss on this course.
You will also learn vocabulary connected to asking for and checking information, showing interest and ending a call.
In addition, you will discuss human resources and read the article Women at work. You will also analyse a case study about an Argentinian exporter negotiating to sell on the US market.
In terms of grammar and vocabulary, we will study, e.g. conditonal sentences and verb patterns.
For written assignments, you will have the opportunity to write a report summarising interesting points regarding another culture, a letter offering employment to a successful candidate and an email outlining the main points agreed in a negotiation.
We recommend that you buy the book Market Leader 3rd Edition Extra Intermediate Course book with DVD-ROM Pack (Pearson Education ESL), ISBN 978-1292134772, before the course starts. The book has been developed in cooperation with The Financial Times.

You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.
The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is just 4-8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.
