This course is for you if you have already completed A1.1 English for work and life, a beginner course at another language school, or you have picked up some English elsewhere and would like to develop your skills further.
You will expand your vocabulary so you can talk about, amongst others, travelling, fashion, design, transport, and your daily life.
You will also learn how to make requests in shops and restaurants, ask questions and ask for and give directions.
You will also improve your grammar and master, amongst others, the use of the present tense including negative sentences, yes/no questions, and adverbs of frequency. You will also be given written assignments such as arranging to meet someone and writing a short review of a hotel.

Teaching material
Before the course starts, we recommend that you buy the book: Navigate A1 Beginner Course book with DVD and Oxford Online Skills (Oxford University Press), ISBN 978-0194566230. We will study selected pages from chapters 4-6 of the book. The book comes with a DVD and access to an online skills programme for self-study outside the classroom
Because this is a beginner course, we do not use a business English course book unlike on our other courses, but your teacher will introduce business topics whenever possible.
You can buy the book here: academicbooks.dk or at Academic Books, Øster Farimagsgade 5A, 1353 Copenhagen K.

Practical information
You will have access to our online learning platform, Moodle, where you will find the course plan, teaching material, homework and other useful online resources for learning English, which your teacher has selected for you and your class. Via Moodle, you can also communicate with your teacher and fellow students.

The number of students on all courses at the Cambridge Institute is just 4-8. Small classes mean that your teacher has more time to help you personally during each lesson.

Preparation time: 1-2 hours per week.

Why do I still do it?
"I enjoy it. Each day is new, each student is different and each story is unique.
I feel very happy in the classroom, and love teaching and helping my students achieve their goals."
