This course is for you if you have already completed A2.1 English for work and life, an elementary course at another language school, or you would like to build on the basic skills you have already acquired.

You will increase your confidence because you will improve your delivery and learn how to handle more challenging situations in English such as how to coordinate the needs of different companies at a conference. You will also be able to make bookings and check arrangements.

At the same time, the accuracy of your grammar will improve once you have learnt, e.g. the difference between in, on, at and for and can use determiners for countable and uncountable nouns such as many, much, a lot of and a few. You will also improve specific work-related skills such as making decisions, giving opinions and agreeing or disagreeing. You will have the opportunity to extend your vocabulary with useful business-related words. In addition, you will learn how to plan, prepare and give a presentation.

In order to be able to manage work situations such as describing a product or service, it is important that you have the necessary vocabulary for, e.g. discussing the target market, outlining the price and features, and confirming delivery options. Therefore, the course also focuses on ensuring you are able to handle such situations.

You will be expected to complete a few written assignments, such as writing business emails, for which your teacher will give you feedback.
